.juicing pulp crackers.

Juicing for health? Not the injectable cocktail that the roid-monkey at the gym uses. Fresh fruit, vegetables, and herbs pressed to give you a glass of health, literally. I know that you have been on the recieving end of the hype around juicing. It is no new news. Here are just a few reasons why juicing is beneficial for you...

"“If you’re not big into fruits and vegetables, it’s a good way to get them in. It can help you meet daily recommendations in one drink” and be part of a healthy diet, says Barr, MPH, RD, LDN, who works at Wilmington's Center for Community Health at Christiana Care Health System.

"Juicing is one of the most powerful healing tools available."-Prescription for Dietary Wellness

DETOX
Cleans out your insides. Helps rid your blood, digestive system, liver, kidneys, intestines, and skin of toxins and any crap that is clinging around in there.

PH BALANCE
Our bodies are in constant limbo of balancing the acidity within our bodies. Stress, alcohol, coffee, processed foods, dairy, and meat are some of the factors that increase the acidity of our bodies. When acidity levels rise the body tries to drop the acidity levels by sucking out calcium from our bones, seriously. Green leafy vegetables and low-sugar vegetables are soldiers in the battle against acidity. The quickest way to get the enzymes necessary to turn down the acidic levels is via. juicing, unless you are into eating founds of kale in one sittting.

HEALER
Many people have healed themselves of degenerative diseases using juice therapy.

Some juice suggestions for healing with the power of "live" juices...they are considered to be the "best" healers for their appointed disorder to be healed. There are countless other combinations that serve the same purposes.

Written facts aren't enough to sell you? Watch this documentary. Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead.
"100 pounds overweight, loaded up on steroids and suffering from a debilitating autoimmune disease, Joe Cross is at the end of his rope and the end of his hope. In the mirror he saw a 310lb man whose gut was bigger than a beach ball and a path laid out before him that wouldn't end well— with one foot already in the grave, the other wasn't far behind. FAT, SICK & NEARLY DEAD is an inspiring film that chronicles Joe's personal mission to regain his health.
With doctors and conventional medicines unable to help long- term, Joe turns to the only option left, the body's ability to heal itself. He trades in the junk food and hits the road with juicer and generator in tow, vowing only to drink fresh fruit and vegetable juice for the next 60 days. Across 3,000 miles Joe has one goal in mind: To get off his pills and achieve a balanced lifestyle.
While talking to more than 500 Americans about food, health and longevity, it's at a truck stop in Arizona where Joe meets a truck driver who suffers from the same rare condition. Phil Staples is morbidly obese weighing in at 429 lbs; a cheeseburger away from a heart-attack. As Joe is recovering his health, Phil begins his own epic journey to get well.
What emerges is nothing short of amazing – an inspiring tale of healing and human connection.
Part road trip, part self-help manifesto, FAT, SICK & NEARLY DEAD defies the traditional documentary format to present an unconventional and uplifting story of two men from different worlds who each realize that the only person who can save them is themselves."

Where am I going with all of this? Juicing is good for you, plain and simple. There are countless articles, documentaries, books, medical write ups, all supporting the use of "live" juices to increase health. The only pit-fall that some see with juicing is the left-overs, the pulp, everything that remains in the machine after you have pressed out your glass of delicious health. Do not throw it out! Problem solved. Following recipe inspired by pure2raw blog .

.juice-pulp crackers.
3 cups of juicing pulp (any combinations)
1/4 cup of flax seeds
1/4 cup of chia seeds
1 cup of water
.garlic.
.salt and pepper.
.any other spices that you wish to add, get creative.

how to:

1. Combined all ingredients.
2. Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper.
3. Spread mixture evenly. Thinner will cook more quickly and crispier vs. thicker.
4. Bake at 350F for 2 hours or until desired crunchiness.
5. Cut while hot. Let sit until cool.
6. Serve with hummus, tuna, avocado...whatever you would top a regular cracker with.

*high fiber, low calorie, and healthy*

.enjoy.

Here is the link if you would like to watch the entire documentary:

"EARTHLINGS is a powerful and informative documentary about society’s treatment of animals, narrated by Joaquin Phoenix with soundtrack byMoby. This multi-award winning film by Nation Earth is a must-see for anyone who cares about animals or wishes to make the world a better place."

This is a documentary which I attempted to watch almost a year ago. Within the first 10 minutes I was in tears and nauseous from the devastating graphic content. I have felt guilty for not making it through the entire documentary since that day. I took the time today to watch the entire video.

Terrible treatment of animals is not a topic that any of us are new to in terms of; production of food, entertainment, fur trade, and medical experimentation. It is a topic that has been touched by all of us at least once in our lifetimes. It is also a topic which we discuss, period.

I feel that a very minuscule  amount of us have taken any action to put any end to this. As a result of inconvenience of meal preparation, the marketing and media behind meat production where "if slaughterhouses were made of glass, we would all be vegetarian", and an ability to mentally block out what is going on in terms of animal cruelty and abuse.

"To say that ignorance is bliss" could not be rung any more true. Having my eyes opened to this video has motivated me to "be the change you wish to see."

"...ignorance is not the inability to find out what is going on , as much as the desire to not know the facts that may be heavy on ones conscience, that is responsible for this lack of awareness."
